dwsChorale: Music

The Heavens are telling

()
from Haydn's "The Creation"
When I first encountered this marvellous work one of my thoughts was "What, no alto soloist? Shame!" - so this adventurous alto took it upon himself to perform this famous chorus from it, including the solos, all on his own - obviously transposed down a little. It was a glorious evening`s singing - I just hope the neighbours were out!

The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.
Today that is coming speaks it the day,
The night that is gone to following night.
The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.
In all the lands resounds the word,
Never unperceived, ever understood.
The Heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonder of his work displays the firmament.
