The dwsChorale got an unexpected review in 2006!

Recent article from an on-line Belgian newspaper (translated from the original Flemish)

"Are you being nagged to get a real Christmas tree? Then happy hunting for the perfect one! Meantime, we'll get on with the preparations to provide the accompaniment you will need as you decorate it in the cosy warmth of your living room. Would a musical accompaniment that fits the mood suit you? For that we will enlist the assistance of the voices that have gathered together at David W. Solomons' Music site. To confuse you even more: all the voices you hear come from David's mouth. They were recorded on several tracks and using different keys. The result: a home choir. Let yourself be carried away by the rarefied sounds of this fine English man. Pay no attention to the clunkiness of the web design [editor's note: This refers to the earlier site!] with which he projects himself in cyberspace, but enjoy his solo choral parts.

Besides being performer he is also the proud composer of many pieces of music. A piece on the harp for example, as a tribute to his deceased cat (yes, really). Given the time of the year you will doubtless need no prompting to play his "Christmas" harmonies. But do yourself a favour, put your best crystal somewhere safe first."

Wordt er aan uw kop gezeurd om alsnog een echte kerstboom in huis te halen? Dan hopen we dat de jacht op het perfecte exemplaar vruchtbaar zal zijn. Wij brengen ondertussen alles in gereedheid om u straks, in de gezellige warmte van uw huiskamer, te begeleiden tijdens de versieringsfase. Met muziekjes die bij de sfeer passen, wat dacht u. We doen daarvoor een beroep op de stemmetjes die zich verzameld hebben op David W Solomons’ Music Site. Om de verwarring nog groter te maken: alle stemmetjes die u te horen krijgt, komen uit de keel van David. Ze werden op verschillende sporen en in verschillende toonaarden opgenomen.


Het resultaat? Een koor aan huis. Laat u meeslepen door en de ijle klanken van deze degelijke Engelsman. Let niet op het stuntelige webdesign waarmee hij zich in cyberspace vereenzelvigt, maar gun de man al zijn solozangpartijen.


Naast performer is hij trouwens ook de trotse bedenker van vele muziekstukken. Iets voor op de harp bijvoorbeeld, als aandenken aan zijn overleden katje. Soit.

Gezien de tijd van het jaar grijpt u ongetwijfeld spontaan naar zijn ‘Christmas’-meerstemmigheid.


Bewijs uzelf een dienst: hou het kristallen servies uit de buurt.
